Elevator Pitch

Neon Nerves is a 2d action platformer where stress affects both you and your opponents. The more stressed out you are, it will reflect on your opponents as well.

Gameplay Overview

The player controls a character in a 2d environment with the goal of getting to the end of the level whilst trying to survive and not accrue too much stress. Enemies will try to stop you, and you will have to find ways to get past them.

Theme Interpretation

The theme being “It’s Spreading” will be used together with the stress mechanic of the game. The player's stress will affect nearby enemies as well - when the player character gets more neurotic in their quest, the enemies will take notice and will more easily stress out - therefore spreading the stress. This means there are both upsides and downsides to having high stress.
